Safety Data Sheets

A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is provided with every product order. SDS documents follow the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) format and include:

• Product identification and composition
• Hazard identification and classification
• First aid measures
• Firefighting measures
• Accidental release measures
• Handling and storage recommendations
• Exposure controls and personal protection
• Physical and chemical properties
• Stability and reactivity
• Toxicological and ecological information
• Disposal considerations
• Transport information

General Handling Guidelines

When working with LLRI materials:

• Personal Protection: Wear appropriate PPE including lab coat, gloves, and safety glasses
• Ventilation: Work in well-ventilated areas or fume hoods when handling powders
• Avoid Contact: Prevent skin and eye contact; avoid inhalation of dust
• Hygiene: Wash hands thoroughly after handling; do not eat, drink, or smoke in work areas
• Containment: Handle in contained areas to prevent environmental release

Storage Recommendations

Proper storage ensures product stability and safety:

• Temperature: Store lyophilized peptides at -20°C or below; check product-specific requirements
• Light: Protect from light; store in original containers
• Moisture: Keep containers tightly closed to prevent moisture absorption
• Segregation: Store away from incompatible materials
• Access: Restrict access to authorized personnel only

Disposal

Dispose of unused materials and contaminated items according to:

• Applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Your institution's chemical waste disposal procedures
• Guidance provided in the product-specific SDS

Do not dispose of research chemicals via sink drain or regular trash unless specifically permitted by local regulations and institutional policy.

Emergency Information

In case of emergency:

• Spills: Contain spill, avoid dust generation, collect material using appropriate PPE
• Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing, wash skin with soap and water
• Eye contact: Rinse immediately with water for at least 15 minutes; seek medical attention
• Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting; seek immediate medical attention
